>> A new henhouse has finally been finished to accommodate our new batch of hens. Due to strong demand for our free range eggs we have substantially increased our flock of Black Rhode hens and the new henhouse now accommodates the expanded flock. It has been made entirely of driftwood collected from the beach over the past years or from wood left over from other projects. The new hens are already laying, in time for the main B&B and camping season. See the work in progress at the Farm & Environment section.

>> Over the past few months we have been busy making new beehives for our apiary. This year has started early with several swarms being caught & new colonies being established. The bees are now successfully installed in their new hives which have all been made from scratch from surplus wood left over from other jobs. Construction has been slow due to the District Council refusing permission for a much needed workshop and having to work mainly outdoors without proper facilities but we persevere. See more in the Farm & Environment section.

>> We have just finished refurbishing the dining room for the new season. In keeping with our environmentally friendly ethos we have installed a refurbished Jetmaster log burning fire. It still has a real 'open fire' atmosphere but is much more energy efficient, convecting more heat into the room instead of being lost up the chimney.
